The Nokia N78 is a multimedia 3G Smartphone made by Nokia, designed by Joeske Schellen. It was first introduced at the Mobile World Congress in February 2008, and was launched on 26 May 2008 for €350 before taxes and subsidies. The phone is compatible with the N-Gage 2.0 mobile gaming service.
Firmware version 20.149 (dated 8 December 2008) became available for the generic (non-branded) N78 via its over-the-air update facility in January 2009.
The latest firmware version 21.002 released last 18th of February 2009 is lightest update with a 214KB downloaded file using FOTA. A lot of improvements were made on the over-all performance of the device after the upgrade.
There is also firmware version 30.011 available through Nokia Software Updater. This update was released 8th of May 2009 and it is not available through FOTA yet.

The Nokia N78 is a GSM/WCDMA dual mode portable multimedia computer supporting WCDMA 900/2100 HSDPA, EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 and WLAN. Use the Nokia N78 for connecting to mobile Broadband using WLAN or HSDPA (3.5G) with faster downloading than 3G. Find directions and locations with the integrated A-GPS and included maps. Take photos with a 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera and enjoy videos, music and graphics on the 2.4” QVGA (240 x 320 pixels), 16M color display. Listen to music with using the built-in stereo speakers. Addition features include UPnP, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR and USB 2.0 High-Speed.
